Ingredients of Fish Stew

  1. Take 1 kg of fish (catfish).
  2. Prepare 5 cm of ginger, sliced.
  3. It’s 3 cm of turmeric.
  4. Make ready 1 of red onion.
  5. Prepare 5 cloves of garlic.
  6. Make ready 1 of tomato.
  7. It’s 4 of red chili.
  8. Take of salt and pepper.
  9. It’s of lemon juice from whole lemon.
  10. It’s 1 tbs of dried basil.
  11. Take 1 tbs of fish sauce/ soy sauce.
  12. Make ready 2 of bay leaves.
  13. Take 2 cm of galangal, sliced.
  14. Make ready 3 tbs of oil.
  15. Take 750 ml of water.
  16. Prepare 1 tsp of sugar.

Fish Stew instructions

  1. Mix turmeric, onion, garlics, tomato, and chilies then puree it with a blender or food processor until smooth.
  2. Heat a wok on medium high add oil and cook the blend mix add ginger, bay leaves, and galangal then cook until fragrant.
  3. Add water and bring to boil. After boiling turn down the heat between medium and medium-low (shimmer) and add the fish then cover tge wok and cook for 5 minutes.
  4. After 5 minute add salt and pepper, sugar, and dried basil then taste (base on self preference) and cook for another 5 minutes.
  5. After 5 minutes turn off the heat and add lemon juice then stir.
  6. Ready to serve..
