Ingredients of South indian spicy mixture
- It’s 1 1/4 Cup of Gram Flour/Besan.
- Make ready 1/4 cup of Rice Flour.
- It’s 1 tbsp of Red chilli powder.
- Take 1 tsp of Asafoetida.
- You need 50 gms of Raw Peanuts.
- You need 50 gms of Roasted Gram.
- Make ready 1/4 cup of Poha.
- It’s 1/4 cup of Cornflakes Readymade.
- Take 8-10 of Cashews.
- You need 2 tsp of curry leaves.
- You need to taste of Salt.
- You need 1 pinch of baking soda.
- You need As needed of Oil for frying.

South indian spicy mixture instructions
- Heat a wok with enough oil for deep fry..
- In a bowl add 1 cup of Gram flour, 1/4 cup of rice flour, 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder, A generous pinch asafoetida, a pinch of Turmeric, Salt and mix well. Sprinkle water and a tbsp of hot oil. Form a smooth dough. Now fill the dough in a Sev maker. Use small hole mould. Close the lid and press and drop in hot oil. Fry for few minutes and take it out on a tissue paper. Like this complete the batter..
- In the same bowl add rest of Gram Flour, red chilli powder, asafoetida, salt, a pinch of baking soda and mix well. Add water and make a lump free pouring batter. Not too loose nor too thick. Now take a ladle with holes to make boondi. Spread the batter on ladle and spread it si that it falls through the holes to oil like droplets. Fry for few minutes until crisp. Take it out and transfer to a tissue paper..
- Now in the same oil deep fry the Raw peanuts for few minutes and take out. Deep Fry the roasted gram and take it out. Deep fry cashews, poha, curry leaves one by one separately and take out..
- Now take bowl and add the sev first and break it into small pieces. Add all the other fried items, red chilli powder, salt and asafoetida and give it a good mix. You can also add cornflakes if you like. Mix everything well..
- Store in a air tight container. It will stay for many days, so make in bulk if you want. Supee simple recipe is ready. 👩🍳.
In spite of this spicy mixture, I love sweet mixture very very much.The one which looks also similar to this mixture, but sweet.Even in this south Indian mixture recipe, my special ingredient is a bit of sugar. this is one such south indian mixture recipe which i can proudly say that i have inherited it from my father. he is great fan of this spicy and crispy munching snack and ensures there is always ample stock of it for his evening tea time snack. he even varies it each time and introduces subtle variation each.
