Ingredients of Okra Stir Fry (Bhindi Ki Sabzi)

  1. It’s 500 g of bite sized chopped okra.
  2. Make ready 1 of small onion chopped the same size as the okra.
  3. Prepare of Salt as per taste.
  4. You need 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder.
  5. Make ready 1/2 teaspoon of asafoetida.
  6. Take 1 teaspoon of red chilli powder.
  7. Make ready 1 tablespoon of coriander powder.
  8. It’s 1 tablespoon of garam masala.
  9. You need 1 teaspoon of cumin powder.
  10. You need 1 teaspoon of amchur powder.
  11. You need 3 tablespoons of cooking oil.

Okra Stir Fry (Bhindi Ki Sabzi) instructions

  1. Heat the oil in a wok.
  2. When the oil is hot add the cut okra and a teaspoon of turmeric powder.
  3. Cook on high flame for 3-4 minutes till the outer surface of the okra becomes soft.
  4. When the okra becomes soft, reduce the flame to β€˜medium’ and add in the powder spices and the chopped onion.
  5. Cover and cook for about 2 minutes.
  6. Open the lid and give it a mix. Add salt as per your taste and cover and cook for about 3-4 minutes.
  7. Goes well with chappatis (Indian flat bread) or as a side dish with any regular lunch.
