Ingredients of Suji Balls

  1. You need For of Suji balls.
  2. Prepare 1 ltr of Water.
  3. You need 1/4 tsp of Carom seeds.
  4. Prepare 1 cup of Semolina/Suji.
  5. Prepare to taste of Salt.
  6. It’s 2 tsp of Oil.
  7. Take For of Filling–.
  8. It’s 2 of Boiled mashed potatoes.
  9. You need 1 tsp of Garam masala.
  10. You need 1 tsp of Cumin seeds.
  11. Prepare 1 of finely chopped Onion.
  12. Make ready 1 tsp of Red Chilli powder.
  13. You need 1/2 tsp of Turmeric powder.
  14. You need 1 tbsp of chopped Coriander leaves.
  15. It’s 1/2 tsp of Chaat masala.
  16. It’s to taste of Salt.
  17. Take 1 tbsp of Oil.
  18. It’s For of Tadka–.
  19. Prepare 1 tsp of Mustard seeds.
  20. It’s 1 tbsp of finely chopped Coriander leaves.
  21. It’s 1/2 tsp of Red Chilli powder.
  22. It’s 1/2 tsp of Garam masala powder.

Dip the balls, one by one, in the flour mixture and roll each in breadcrumbs so that it is evenly and thickly coated.Semolina Balls (soji balls, suji ladoo) is one of the simplest forms of sweetmeats to make.It is literally cooked semolina shaped into a ball.Like soji halwa , soji balls are also fragranced by cardamom and can be complemented with nuts of choice and or sultanas.

Suji Balls step by step

  1. Heat water in a heavy skillet, add carom seeds, salt, oil and mix it well.
  2. Add suji and mix it well and cook until the mixture thickens..
  3. Remove it from heat and allow it to cool..
  4. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds..
  5. Add chopped onion and stir for 2 - 3 minutes..
  6. Add chilli powder, turmeric powder garam masala powder and mix well..
  7. Now, add boiled mashed potatoes and mix it well and cook for 5 - 7 minutes on medium heat..
  8. Add chat masala and coriander leaves,mix it well and switch off the flame..
  9. Take the semolina dough, mix it well and make balls with the help of your hand..
  10. Add some potatoes mixture in it and seal it properly..
  11. Make all balls in the same way..
  12. Boil water in a big utensil, cover and steam the balls on it..
  13. After 15 minutes take out balls from steamer..
  14. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, coriander leaves, garam masala and chilli powder and stir for 2 minutes..
  15. Now add the steamed suji balls in it, mix it well and cook for 4 minutes on medium heat..
  16. Remove from flame and serve hot with tomato sauce..
