  1. It’s 1 packet of firm tofu.
  2. Take 1 cup of chopped peppers(optional).
  3. Make ready 1 cup of chopped onions, long sliced.
  4. It’s 1 cup of chopped celery.
  5. Make ready 4 cloves of garlic chopped.
  6. Take 3 tbsp of spring onions chopped.
  7. Prepare 3 of green chilles chopped.
  8. Prepare 1 tbsp of red chilli powder.
  9. You need 2 tbsp of corn flour.
  10. Take 1 tbsp of pepper.
  11. Take 2 tbsp of soy sauce.
  12. It’s 1 tbsp of white wine vinegar.
  13. Prepare 2 tbsp of tomato paste or ketchup.
  14. You need of salt.
  15. Prepare of olive oil.

Tofu Manchuria step by step

  1. Cut tofu into small cubes and coat with red chilli powder, salt, cornflour and marinate for 30 mins.
  2. Shallow fry tofu pieces on pan with oil till coated brown. Remove from pan and place on absorbent paper.
  3. In the same pan, add lil oil and fry onion for 5 mins. Add peppers, celery, green chilles, garlic, green onions and fry for few mins.
  4. Add ketchup or tomato paste and fry for a min.
  5. Add tofu to the pan and add vinegar, soya sauce, salt and mix well and cook for 3 to 5 mins..
  6. Let it thicken up a bit.
  7. Serve hot.
  8. If you need gravy… add a cup of water with 1 tbsp of corn flour in it and add to the pan and simmer till thickens.
