  8. It’s 150 grams of bacon lardons.

  10. Make ready 30 grams of gruyere.
  11. Take 2 tsp of green pesto.
  12. Take 2 of sprigs fresh thyme.

I think my favorite ingredient in quiche is naturally bacon.Gruyere was the perfect match for the bacon and asparagus combo.I love this salty cheese, that is the perfect kind of cheese for melting in a pasta.Arrange asparagus in a wheel fashion.

Asparagus and Bacon quiche step by step

  1. preheat oven to 180°c.
  2. grease tin/case.
  3. roll out pastry and press into fluted edges.
  4. prick all over with fork and blind bake for 15 mins until lightly golden.
  5. fry lardons until crisp removing excess fat- set aside to cool.
  6. cut asparagus and tomatoes in half.
  7. chop mushrooms and thinly slice/grate gruyere cheese.
  8. combine eggs and creme fraiche.
  9. remove pastry case from oven.
  10. cover base with lardons and mushrooms.
  11. pour over custard mixture.
  12. arrange asparagus and tomato halves on top.
  13. sprinkle over thyme leaves.
  14. sprinkle over gruyere cheese.
  15. drip over a little pesto.
  16. bake for 35 minutes.

Pour egg mixture on top of cheese.Instead of steaming the asparagus, like others, I sauteed them in a little bit of the leftover bacon drippings (saves you dirtying another pan).This Asparagus Bacon Quiche is not only delicious but as well as stunning.
