The word vindaloo comes from the Portuguese recipe. Pork vindaloo is hot-sour-spicy, almost pickle-like, braise of fatty pork with lots of garlic, vinegar and chillies.

Ingredients of Pork Vindaloo Anglo Indian style
- It’s 1/2 kg of pork.
- You need 1/2 tsp of salt.
- Prepare of For marinade.
- It’s 1/5 inch of ginger.
- It’s 10 of garlic cloves.
- You need of Dry roast.
- It’s 1/5 tsp of poppy seeds.
- Prepare 2 tsp of cumin seeds.
- It’s 2 tsp of mustard seeds.
- It’s 8-10 of peppercorns.
- Prepare 10-12 of destalked Kashmiri red chilli.
- It’s 4 of cloves.
- Make ready 4-5 tbs of vinegar.
- You need 1/4 tsp of salt.
- You need of Rest of the ingredients for cooking.
- It’s 1 tbsp of oil.
- Take 1/4 tsp of mustard seeds.
- Prepare 2 of small cinnamon sticks.
- Prepare 2 of onions finely chopped.
- You need 1 of tomato finely chopped.
- Prepare 1 of spring curry leaves.
- Prepare 1/4 tsp of sugar.
- You need 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder.
How to Make Anglo-Indian Pork Vindaloo.Marinate the pork with the salt, vinegar, chilli powder, cumin powder, pepper powder, mustard powder, turmeric powder and garlic paste for about.To male Vindaloo Paste; Place the ginger, garlic, chilli, turmeric, cardamon, cloves peppercorns, cinnamon, coriander, cumin seeds and lemon juice in a food processor.ANGLO-INDIAN PORK BHOONIE (Pork cooked With Dill Leaves).
Pork Vindaloo Anglo Indian style instructions
- After dry roasting the above ingredients, allow to cool.
Now combine all the ingredients under โmarinadeโ to a very smooth paste.
- if required, add 1/4th cup water to grind to a smooth paste
Now marinate the pork well with the above marinade and turmeric for 8 hours or atleast for an hour so that the pork will absorb the marinade well..
- Preparation:
- In a cooker add the oil
- Add cinnamon sticks and fry till fragrant
- Add mustard seeds. Let it splutter
- Add onions and fry well till it changes colour to brown
- Add sugar
- Add tomato and fry well till it gets mushy
- Add the turmeric and fry for a min
- Add the curry patta and fry for a min
- Now add the marinated pork and fry for 5 mins on high flame. Keep stirring so that the masala does not get stuck to the bottom or gets burnt..

- Add 1 to 1.5 cups boiling water (depending on the consistency you want) and give it a good stir
- Add salt if required
- Pressure cook for 20min (4-5 whistles) on medium flame
- Turn off the gas and let the cooker release pressure on it own
- Once you open the lid, there will be gravy but if you wish to dry the meat more turn on the gas on medium to high flame stirring occasionally for the water to evaporate and get the desired consistency..
