Traditionally khichdi was a meal made for the sick and/or recovering patients as it is light in digestion and provides the necessary nutrition for the body to build its immunity and fight the disease.

Ingredients of Multi Pulses Nutritive Khichdi

  1. Take 1-cup of multi pulses Khichdi coarse mixture.
  2. It’s of (Bajra, Green Moong,Rice kanki,Wheat Dalia).
  3. Take 1/2 tsp of ajwain.
  4. You need 1/2 tsp of white sesame seeds.
  5. It’s 2+2 tbsp of ghee.
  6. Make ready 1- tbsp of of cummin seeds.
  7. You need 1- tsp of of asafoetida (hing).
  8. You need 1/4- tsp of of turmeric powder.
  9. Prepare to taste of Salt.
  10. Make ready 2+2 glasses of of water…for soaking & cooking.

Multi Pulses Nutritive Khichdi instructions

  1. Dry roast 1/4 cup of Bajra..for 10min.Cool & grind in mixer into coarse mixture..
  2. Dry roast 1/4 cup of small variety of moong for 10mins..Cool & Grind in mixer jar into coarse mixture..
  3. Now add in cooker tin..1/4cup of each..Bajra,Moong, coarse mixture,basmati rice kanki, wheat dalia,add ajwain & sesame seeds..mix well..
  4. Soak this multi pulses Khichdi mixture..in 2 glasses of water for 8 hours'..
  5. At the time of cooking.. Khichdi..discard the soak water..
  6. Add 2 glasses of fresh water.
  7. Do tadka..#ghee#cummin seeds#hing..add to soaked multi pulses Khichdi mixture.Add salt..mix well..
  8. Add 2glasses of water in pressure cooker..
  9. Place the soak Khichdi vessel in pressure cooker..cover with lid.
  10. Pressure cook..4 whistles..on high..lower the flame..cook..3 whistles..on slow flame.(as Bajra need more cooking time).
  11. Allow the Pressure cooker to cool..for half an hour..
  12. Just before serving..add 2tbsp of ghee to cooked Nutritive Khichdi..mix well.
  13. Serve hot with Kadhi & Muthias/papad..
  14. RELISH this Nutritive Khichdi.. which is different from plain Khichdi,.as multi pulses are used with aromat spices.. flavoured with Ghee.It is also rich in protein,Iron, Fiber..
