Semolina(Suji) Dhokla Recipe. Dhokla (Suji - Semolina) Dhokla is a traditional gujrati snack, spongy and fluffy in texture. They are often made with chana dal, ground chickpeas.

Ingredients of Semolina(Suji) Dhokla

  1. You need 1 cup of small Semolina.
  2. Prepare 1/2 cup of curd.
  3. It’s 1/2 cup of water.
  4. Make ready 1 tsp of Green Chillies-Ginger crush.
  5. It’s as per taste of Salt.
  6. It’s 1/4 tsp of Baking soda.
  7. You need 3-4 tsp of water.
  8. Prepare For of Tempering-.
  9. It’s 2-3 tsp of oil.
  10. It’s 1 tsp of mustard seeds.
  11. It’s 1/2 tsp of red chilli powder.
  12. Take some of Sweet Curry leaves(optional).

What is Rava Dhokla / Suji Dhokla?Rava / Suji is semolina which is part of the wheat family.Rava/Suji is mixed with yogurt, ginger, turmeric (optional), green chilies (optional), salt, water, oil, and ENO (fruit salt).A flavorful tempering of mustard seeds, sesame seeds, curry leaves, asafoetida.

Semolina(Suji) Dhokla instructions

  1. Take a mixing bowl add Semolina, curd mix it all well..
  2. Add water mix it and close the lid keep a side for an hour..
  3. After an hour add salt, crushed ginger - green chillies. Mix it all well if required add water to get the consistency..
  4. Now take a steamer or deep vessel. Pour water and put a ring. Let water get boil on medium High flame. Grease the Dhokla plate/ thali or cake tin in which u want to make dhoklas..
  5. Now add baking soda to the batter. Add water and give a nice whisk..
  6. Pour the batter I greased tin. Tap it. Get it leveled..
  7. Put the tray or plate in the steamer. Close the for 15-20 min..
  8. Open the lid check it with toothpick. Take out the tray let it get cool. Now scrape it from the sides with the help of knife. Put a plate on the tray and flap it upsidedown. Whole will come out easily. Cut into pieces..
  9. Get tempering ready. Put pan add oil, mustard seeds. Get crackled add Curry leaves(optional) and red chilli powder..
  10. Pour this tempering on dhoklas and set e with chutney and ketchup..
