Sweet Semolina Dhokla Recipe. Dhokla is a traditional gujrati snack, spongy and fluffy in texture. It gives the semolina dhokla a fabulous aroma and special flavour.

Ingredients of Sweet Semolina Dhokla

  1. Make ready 1 cup of semolina, dry roasted.
  2. You need 1 tbsp. of roasted chickpea flour.
  3. It’s 1/3 cup of castor sugar or as required (I used brown sugar).
  4. Make ready 2-3 tbsp. of fresh grated coconut.
  5. Prepare 1/4 tsp. of cardamom powder.
  6. Take 1-2 tbsp. of melted butter.
  7. Take 1/4 cup of yoghurt.
  8. You need 1-2 tbsp. of soaked chia seeds.
  9. Prepare 1 tbsp. of chopped pistachios.
  10. You need of required quantity of water.
  11. Make ready 1 tsp. of eno fruit salt.
  12. You need of chopped pistachios, dry rose petals & soaked chia seeds to garnish.
  13. You need of sugar syrup to drizzle (opt).
  14. Make ready of castor sugar to garnish (opt).

But I prefer soaking semolina in curd overnight which gives more flavor and also softness to these dhoklas instead of instant batter.If you're tired with oily breakfasts, then try rawa dhokla (Semolina Dhokla).It's cooked in steam and almost negligible oil is used.It also takes very less time to prepare.

Sweet Semolina Dhokla instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine all the mentioned ingredients (except eno fruit salt and the garnishings). Add enough water to form a batter of pouring consistency. Keep aside for 10-15 minutes..
  2. Add more water if required and whisk well. Add eno fruit salt and give it a stir. Pour into a greased steel container / plate and steam for 20 minutes on a medium flame..
  3. When cool, cut into desired shapes. Garnish with chopped pistachios, dried rose petals and soaked chia seeds..
  4. Serve it warm or at room temperature with a drizzle of some sugar syrup / castor sugar if you wish..
