Ingredients of Puto Maya

  3. Prepare 3/4 cups of White Sugar.
  4. Make ready 1/2 tsp of Salt.
  5. Prepare of Thumbsize ginger.
  6. Make ready leaves of Banana.

Puto Maya step by step

  1. Soak glutinous rice in water for 8 hours or overnight.
  2. Rinse and strain water from rice.
  3. Add the coconut milk, sugar, salt and minced ginger cut into thin pieces.
  4. Continue to stir on medium low heat until most liquid is absorbed.
  5. Steam the banana leaves. This is to avoid tearing..
  6. Place the banana leaf like a plate in the steamer then pour the rice..
  7. Steam for 30 mins..
